Testimonials

“Abby is the perfect instructor for women, men, and children–in other words, for anyone and everyone!  She meets every student ‘where they are’, building a foundation on which to develop each individual’s game.  She is equally adept at working with her students’ physical and psychological challenges, and is always focused on making the game more enjoyable, no matter the skill level.  Abby met me as a novice golfer, and has been a teacher, a coach, and a friend–all of which have given me great joy in my golf game and life!  Abby’s students are fiercely loyal, with good reason–she challenges us, encourages us, and educates us in this most difficult sport.  She is a truly gifted instructor and has created a learning environment at Kiawah that is unsurpassed in excellence.”

My husband and I have been working with Abby for almost 4 years now.  We do her coaching package so we are able to see her for the exact amount of time we need, whether it be a 15 minute “fix” or a longer working session.  There are three things we really like about our teaching relationship with Abby:
1. She is unfailingly upbeat.  No matter how much we are struggling, we always leave feeling there is hope and improvement just around the corner.
2.  So many instructors insist on tearing up everything you are currently doing and starting over.  Abby has taken our games and our styles and improved them, without having to go back to ground zero to learn “her way”.
3.  We go to work on what we want to work on.  If we want to putt and chip, we do that.  If it is sand work we need, she is able to accommodate.  Her teaching is centered around us and not the other way around.
Abby is the fourth instructor we’ve had over the years and we both feel we understand our swings and our games much better now than we ever have.  She is committed, talented and fun to be around.

Abby has been working with my family for about 10 years now. We absolutely love working with her! Her method of instruction and patience suits all levels of golfers. She is always encouraging and is so positive. We look forward to seeing her every time we come to Kiawah.

Abby was my first golf instructor.  She adapted her instruction to my style of learning which made it fun!

I just wanted to thank you for your efforts and share with you my improvement.  When I arrived in mid-June I was sporting an 11.7 handicap, and since our work together, I am now down to a 9.0.  I’ve finally broken 80 at my Golf Club at home (which is fairly challenging) and for 6 of my past 7 rounds I’ve shot between 79-85. This is down from my previous typical 84-90 range.  I am no longer a “bogey-golfer”.
You quickly identified issues I could improve on, and explained them in a simple and practical manner.  Your demeanor allowed for a relaxed, safe and fun learning environment.
Thanks again, and I look forward to working with you more next time I come to Kiawah.
